Chiasso, Switzerland. 28 November 2007 – Allied Telesis, a global provider of secure IP/Ethernet access solutions and an industry leader in the deployment of IP Triple Play networks over copper and fiber access infrastructures, today launched its new intelligent Business Gateway (iBG), the iBG900 series. Designed for indoor installation, the new gateway can deliver high performance broadband for business applications. The iBG900 is available in a range of options, supporting ADSL, SHDSL uplink connections. The iBG900 series is supplied with up to eight 10/100TX Ethernet ports and four full-featured POTS serviced FXS ports and ISDN.

The flexible support of up to four analog phones, up to four ISDN phones and ISDN-based PBX and the eight LAN port position, makes the iBG900 the ideal solution for any SMB VoIP transition.

The iBG900 series is optimized for secure access supporting VPN connection through embedded hardware encryption providing an all-in one solution for business access networks.

The iBG900 enables the NSPs to benefit from reduced operational expenses (OPEX) due to its simple and flexible installation through a suite of management tools, including the sophisticated and powerful AlliedView™ Network Management Software (AlliedView NMS), that substantially decreases the time needed to provision and deploy large networks. The built-in wiring diagnostic capabilities of the iBG900 series provide further OPEX savings. Standard metallic loop test capability is built into each FXS port, while each 10/100TX port comes with integrated Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) capabilities that identify CAT5 opens and shorts. These tests can quickly identify faulty home wiring, accelerating both installation and service restoration.

Like all other Allied Telesis iMG products, the iBG900 series is certified for use with virtually all Class 5 equivalent MGCP or SIP softswitches. Its high performance digital signal processing provides superlative VoIP quality, in the presence of other packet based services. The iBG900 series also includes state of the art POTS line drivers that can adapt to loop conditions and ensure trouble-free performance with all types of telephones.
